Project Description
This video concept sprouted from the feeling that I have when I practice hula hoop, the feeling of disappearing to another place with a sense of magic. It has always felt like a portal to another dimension. I combined my hula hooping passion with my video FX skill set and explored this concept thoroughly.

Process
I am using a simple manipulation of layers. I use two videos with the same background, one with the subject and one without. I use keyframes to move the cutouts (masks) to create the illusion that I desire. This concept can be adapted for so many different subjects. It is not just limited to hula hooping or highlining.
Challenges
You have to take into consideration the background scenery with moving elements like clouds, plants, waves, shadows, lighting, etc... This concept would also work well in a studio setting with green screens.
Outcomes
These videos are the highest performing content on mine and the artists’ profiles. With the top videos gaining 32.4K, 27.3K, 23.5K, and 17.5K views on each Instagram Reel.
